Well.....

I've spent ages here adding things this morning, but I still have some more. At least Juliet has something to look at now and she won't need to tell me off for not being here. Lol. I'm off now to do the rounds of my friends blogs (haven't been there much recently either, sorry guys.)

Well I will be back, can't say when as I have a new job starting on Friday working as a Learning Support Assistant in the Junior School I already work in as a dinner lady, less crafting time but more stash money. Yay!!! Or maybe that should be holiday money seeing as that is fast approaching. Hmmmm !

Altering things

This is one of the favoutrites of the things I have made this month. I bought a clipboard from Charmed Cards and Crafts and altered it in to a very girly looking clipboard. Papers are K & Co with flowers and butterflies cut out of some pf their sparkly sweet papers too. Bling added to the flowers for that extra sparkle. The paint in Adirondack paint dabbers in a lushush pink. It all looks fab on my orange kitchen wall lol. Although as DH said it's covered up by my birthday list (so it's not too much of a clash) Oh well I know it's pretty underneath the paper.

Christmas maze book

As part of a challenge cet by Carmen on 3C's forum I made a maze book about the Christmas decorations on our tree, with some of the girls thrown in for added interest. (Just a couple of the photos here.)

Wedding cards

These 2 wedding cards were made for 2 teachers at school who are getting married during half term. The card on the left is for DD2's class teacher and the one on the right is for DD1's Maths and Head of Year teacher.

Papers are DCWV from their wedding stack on both cards. Mirror card on both and the right card has a chipboard sticker in the center of the matting and layering. (I'm getting good at this matting and layering now lol.) Both cards had peel offs to add that finishing touch. Inside I've added 2 sheets of A4 paper so that in the first case DD2's class could all sign the card and in DD1's card the whole year have signed it. I also added a William Wordsworth quote about the marriage ceremony in both. The whole thing is finished of with Organza ribbon tied right round the front of the card and tied in a bow.

Challenge time

This card I made for a card sketch challenge on the Craft Diner Forum. Paper from K & Co and the monogram is from K & Co too. I had glitter everywhere with just these 2 items out of the box.

A new baby in the family

My Nephew and his wife had a little baby boy just 4 days into the new year and I made this card for the. Papers are DCWV, Die cut teddy using my tag a long and a thin cut Ellisons die, Stamped letters from a See D's stamp set and 4 little baby faces stickers to complete it. Also managed to enter this in the challenge on Craft Diner too.

Birthday time for Shell.

This was a card I made for a friend from 3C's forum's 30th birthday. Papers are Basic Grey Gypsy with peeloffs in the orientla style put on to other BG papers and cut out. Peel off words to finish off.

I'm a bad blogger I just haven't found the time to get here since the last time. I have been making things though.

Sketch challenge 2

On Charmed cards forum there is another challenge running in the card making line.

As an unadventurous card maker I thought I'd have a go. I can follow designs and having someone tell me where to put stuff is fine by me. Lol. This is my creation using the sketch.

It's nothing like the cards I normally make and well out of my comfort zone but I like it. I used my quite old K & Co Neopolitan Citrus scrap pad to go as the papers all blend well together. Even the flower was a pop out from the pad and the sentiment too. All I added were 3 Papermania brads and voila.

An old project

I was going through my photos on the pc the other day, so DH could back everything up, and I came across a mini album I made for DD1's teacher who left in July last year. She was such a lovely and funy teacher and DD1, and 2, both said she was their fave in the school. She was crafty, but it had gone by the wayside a bit with not enough time. A friend and I showed her the light and now she is a fellow crafting friend, and part of our CJ group. I also made the box to keep the gift in.

The theme was inspiration and in particular quotes about teaching. When we gave her the book she was delighted with it.

A new family member

Well my nephew and his wife are the proud parents to a bouncing baby boy. He was born last Friday and is called Cillian (although he might become Killian ?) either way it is an Irish name. I could have gone out and bought a card but no longer do I do that (if I can help it) There is a card challenge running on the Craft Diner to make a new baby card and incorporate some stamping on it. Hmm okay make the baby card fitted in nicely but I don't have a vast amount of stamps still really and nothing suitable for a baby. So I kind of cheated and used a See D's alphabet to stamp some words on the card. BTW the card has disappeared during the scan. There is a white card under the blue paper and a border is visible on the card irl but where it went to I have no idea. ??? Lol.

Shell's Birthday

It was Shell's 30th birthday the other day, and I wanted to make her a lovely card as she always sends me such fab cards. I went oriental with a twist. Papers are BG Gypsy with peel off stickers. I like this look although it isn't traditional oriental. I like the pretty bright colours of it this way.

Thank you cards

The girls had more gift cards and money for Christmas this year than last, but they are getting older and therefore a bit harder to buy for. I have always got them to do thank you notes for close family at least and this year got my tag a long out and used the embossing folder that it came with. (Only used it once or twice before, ummm!)

I ran up 8 cards in no time for tehm to send. Nothing special but they are happy with them. As I bought a few of the sizzlits pads in the Ellisons sale, I made good use of them for these cards. A few flowers and the job was done. Now to get the girls to write them out !!!!

Oh dear

I've not been here for a while again. I've been busy again. But I have been crafting.


First of all though Happy New Year (if a tad late) to everyone who visits my blog. Hope we all have a fabulous year in 2008.


So what have I been up to then. Craft wise I have signed up to the 10 a month challenge on the Craft Diner forum. I resolved to craft daily this year. (Okay I've missed a couple of days but I'm doing better than I have over the past couple of months) One of the first thing I made this year was with my DD2. Her holiday homework was to do something about Resolutions. It could take any form so we went with the Resolutions box as seen in the current edition of Scrapbook Inspirations.


As she's only 8, I helped her with the cutting and folding but she helped me with the measuring and everything else. It took a bit longer than they claim on the S I website but she does get bored and wanders off to see what her big sister is doing. Kids lol!!! Anyway the results are fab. She's a minimal girl and so decorating was far less than I would have done, but it was her project and that's up to her.



Papers used were from We R Memory Keepers and the C/S for the matchbooks was out of a Little Sizzlits pad. Alphabet stickers are SEI.

Mini LO

This is a LO for a mini book that was organized by Lizzie (one of the ladies on 3C's forum) as a surprise pressie for our 'boss' on the forum and owner of a very nice online shop. (With so many tempting things and loads of choice.) I'm of course talking about Charmed Cards and Crafts.

The book was received in time for Christmas by Karen and was greeted with total surprise and a few tears of happiness by her. Phew, it was touch and go for a while as some pages didn't arrive until after the last posting date and some after the book had been sent. (Karen will add those in at some point though.)

This was my offering. It is of course K & Co papers Peppermint Twist and some of the die cuts. I used my new Vixen alphabet and reindeer die cuts and icing rub ons. Finished off with Papermania silk flowers and a little fuzzy Santa's face sticker. It's all on a 4" X 4 1/2" LO and Lizzie put it all into a little book with all the other ladies LOs before sending it all to Karen.

Where does the time go?

I have been a bad blogger since my last entry. I just haven't had the time to get here before Christmas. Then I went down with a horrible cold just before Christmas and felt dreadful, and since Christmas DH has been home from work so I haven't been able to even sit at the pc for more than about 15 mins and once a day. !!!! The girls have been on their's a lot too (thanks to DD1 being Sims 2 mad!), so I couldn't get on there even.

Anyway I have been creating some bits. Some are still on the camera and others can't be shown yet as they belong to the CJ I have here. It's all about to finish though so next month I will be able to post pics of everyone's LO's and mine in everyone's too. Will that make up for my lack of entries? Hmmmm not sure but I think it will help.

Here is another of my favourite types of cards atm. I made one also for my sister who's birthday is 31st Dec, but I forgot to take a photo of that one. Doh! This was for DD1's friend though and is very similar.

One like Shell's

Here is my take on the lovely birthday card my friend Shell made for our friend Lou's birthday. I liked the card so much that I asked Shell to let me in on the instructions.

Papers are the double sided from K & Co Dollhouse scrap pad to go. Embellishments are a little sticky stones for bling and Prima flowers with brads.

This card is so much nicer than the one I had originally made for another friend's birthday next week so she will be receiving this.

Birthday time again!

So Monday was my birthday and I received several lovely hand made cards. (Including 3 from M & S ! Thanks DH and DD1 & 2)

Smile in a CJ

This entry is one I did in the first CJ I took part in and is one of my favourites still. I just love the way snowflake the white gorilla has a cheeky grin on his face. The poem is great too. I was sent the 2 together in an email originally and saved it in the event of wanting it some time. When the What makes you laugh CJ came along it was the obvious choice for me to put in as my LO.
