Do you Small World?

Yes it's annoying and yes it is sickly sweet, but on a hot sunny day in California it is very cool in there and just a little bit of fun.
Paper is from a Disney Paper Pizzaz book bought in 2005 on sale in Florida used in conjunction with a sheet from the other Disney Papers book I bought at the same time. Letters are Papermania.

Parade time

It's a must to see the parade at Disney, even when you are an adult-child. : o) Who cares if you look stupid waving at people inside costumes. Go on be brave and have fun.
Papers are WRMK Nonsense with a Winnie the Pooh HOTP punchout.

Disneyland

Being a kid again at Disneyland is fun. So many rides to go on and when I went SPlash Mountain had just opened. Had to wait an hour to ride it but it was worth it lol.
Paper is from a book of papers bought at Disney World in 2005, Prima flowers, HOTP punch out Disney characters and K & Co Happy trails chipboard embellishment.

All for an effect

This is part of Universal that was called Streets of the World. There were little fair type stalls that you could win prizes on too.
Paper is K & Co Hapy Trails, Prima flowers, Papermania s/a ribbon and s/a gem stones

Backlot

This was my first trip to Universal Studios (before the one in Florida opened too). I have been back since and things have changed so it is even better. It was a good day out though even then.
Papers K & Co Happy Trails and s/a alphabet from Papermania.

Farmer's Market L A

Just a brief lunchtime stop here but it gave us the chance to browse some little stalls with the locals.

Papers and G A arrow are K & Co Happy Trails, Prima silk flowers, DCWV rub ons , B G brads - Archaic, Papermania ribbon and WRMK Nonsense epoxy flowers
.

Movie time

Grauman's or Mann's chinese theatre is where you will find the hollywood walk of fame where the stars have their stars to say they have made it. There are also the hand and footprints of some in the forecort area of this theatre. Great fun to stand (or try to) in their footsteps.

Paper and Grand Adhesion are K & Co - Happy Trails again.

On with the holiday 89 album

Okay so I am now knee deep in LOs from the masses of photos I took when I did my first ever trip to California etc way back in Oct - Nov 1989. Wow 20 years ago almost!!!!.

Straight on with the first few then.
Hollywood Bowl - all paper and embellishments from K & Co Happy Trails collection.

Another child with a birthday!

I'm a norty Mum who forgot to put her eldest daughter's 12th birthday cake photos on here. I'll go stand in the corner. !!! As you can see Hannah had a yummy chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and giant choccy buttons. Did youknow that a cake , even as big as that, doesn't last long !!!! Now if I could I'd back date this for the end of May but I don't know how (or if I can even. Lol)

To start us off

Here is the first LO I have done in this album, although it won't be the first in the album. I have one to do of flying in to LAX.
This is of Olvera Street in LA. Very old and very hispanic. Papers are K & Co Happy Trails, Prima flowers and BG buttons. Lo made using a sketch from Little Scrapbook Sketch Shop.

Awol again

Well doesn't time fly when you are having fun. !!!!

I am busy scrapping my holiday photos from 20 years ago. Lol. K & Co brought out their Happy Trails collection and it fits in nicely for me as my holiday was in America. Amazingly I have been a bit minimal with my use of paper so it seems I have a new style lol. Photos have been taken and I will be adding them very soon. In the meantime here are the father's day cards we have made for my DH and FIL.

Rachel's birthday

My baby has reached double figures at last. Rachel is now 10. !!!! Here she is with her usual big cheesy grin and her cheeky ways. (It took her 3 goes to blow out the candle this year and that was just the one candle lol.)

Cards galore

I decided thst I was going to have a go at selling my cards so set about making what I could with the images I had myself and that my lovely friend Janet sent to me. I added some of the fab Mikey download images and these are the results.

So in addition to some other cards already shown on here (I think) I set off with DD1 to the village hall and a table top sale. Imagine my horror when I found us on a table opposite another card maker. !!!! The sale started at 10am and was pretty busy from the start. It wasn't long before I had made my first sale. 50p lol. Then an old friend I worked with at school came along and loved the cards so bought 7 of them. Bless her. !!
Anyway by the time 11am came the crowds had gone and there was only the odd person coming in so other stall holders were packing up. We held out until 11.10am but by then the organisers were packing up so we did too. I am happy to say that in the end I made a profit. Not huge but I got my entry fee back and some extra. A total of £8.30 made on the day which for 12 cards sold in the hour I didn't think was bad going and my cards were priced between 50p and £1 so I was never going to make a huge amount. Still £3.30 profit was a start.
Next to make some more embellished 'better' cards and try the florist and library out as potential sellers. Do I see a chain beginning???? Lol.

New baby album

I am back and as promised here is some of the work I have been doing whislt being awol. :)

I made a 12" x 12" album for my (now relatively) new Great niece, Amelie. As her Mum is a scrapper I decided to just make the basics and let her do the rest. I did provide her with teh sketches I used to create the start of the LO so she could see what I was aiming at.

Papers are Basic Grey Sugared with embellishments from that range planned to be used (unless Karen has other things in mind.) The album is from Papermania (so there is no excuse that she can't get refills and carry on scrapping t this size lol.)

I'm happy to say that the album was well received *phew* and I believe has been started already. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished results in time.

AWOL

I'm a bad blogger but I have been extremely busy crafting ..... honest. I have pics to post to prove it too lol. Well when I find time to get the pics off the camera and onto the pc first.

I've made a whole 12" x 12" album of 20 LOs ready for my niece to use to ad photos and bits of her scrummy baby daughter. She is 8 weeks old already !!! On top of that I have been very busy card making as I was aiming to have a go at selling at a village fair next Saturday. In the end it was the wrong type of sale so I had a go at the village table top sale yesterday (sat) instead. My first time of selling my wears lol.

Must admit I was nervous that nothing would sell and I would be very disappointed. BUT I sold 12 cards in just over an hour. I was prepared to be at the sale for longer but as the people coming in had dried up after the first 45 mins the hall started packing up !!!! So DD1 and I did the same. I came home having made £8.30. Not a huge amount but I made a profit of £3.30 on the day so that's a plus. My cards were priced from between 50p and £1 so not a huge amount was expected. My friend Shell told me that I was selling too cheaply and I'm not to do it again lol. I was just wanting to sell some so didn't want to make them too much, besides some of them didn't have much to them really.

With a bit more confidence now, I intend to make a few more of my 'better' (more embellished) cards and head for the very nice florists shop in the village to see if they are willing to sell my cards from their shop. Not sure if they do that kind of thing but I can only try. Failing that it might be a trip to the library. ????

Might not get to add anything for a couple of days as it is DD2's 10th birthday tomorrow so we have things planned, weather allowing. I WILL be back soon with the promised items though. No really I will.

BTW the Charmed Delectable Stamps are now on general sale at Karen's. But make sure you save some for me.

3 Cs challenge time

It was my turn to set the challenge on 3Cs forum this time. I wanted us to do something different, something we hadn't done before and something that would challenge us. I decided on a boho style card with lots of layers, textures and all sorts of embellishments. Then for the second challenge to create a LO using serendipity as a feature, fibres or ribbon, stamping and at least 2 embellishments.

Here is my LO.
Papers used are Urban Prairie from BG. I used 3 different papers to create the collage for the serendipity effect and then out of that cut letters for the title, made a scalloped mat for the little photo and also a mat for the skull and crossbones.
The title has a shadow lettering out of pink Bazill Bling. I stamped vrious flourishes around the LO and highlighted bits of them with a little s/a bling gems. The skull and crossbones and the little arrow are grungeboard painted with pink acrylic paint. I also added a C/S sticker and threaded some fibre through the holes at each end.
The photo is of my DD1 when she took part in the fashion rocks show at school last term, her year 7. Not sure I am liking that attitude on her face there. Hmmm! Might have to stamp that out.
The clothes for the show were old school shirts and bits that the kids decorated in creative design. She had a ball working with all sorts of mediums including angelina fibres, felt, block and screen printing and added all sorts of feathers and ribbons etc. Is this a fashion designer in the making????

Easter time again

Well I have been a busy bee making yet another baby album for a niece. Amelie Olivia was born just about a month ago now and is gorgeous. She is a cousin for Neve so within the space of 4 months my eldest sister went from being Nan to 1 grandson to having 2 grandaughters too.

Amelie's Mum is a scrapbooker so I made her a 12" x 12" album (not her normal size choice for scrapping) using her fave paper, Basic Grey and I chose Sugared collection. I used sketches for the LOs and have made up a sheet to show her how she needs to finish off the LOs.

I find it hard to make things for other people when you haven't got hte photos to make the full LO, but this way at least if she want's to change things, she can lol.

I've taken photos but I need to get them off the camera so I can't show any yet. If you want to see then you'll have to pop back. : 0)

Wow !!!! just look at this blog candy that is being given away on a fab new blog that has just started up. Charmed Delectable Stamps is the new baby for Karen and Lou and is very exciting. Stamps of gorgeous characters as you will sson see. The sneeky peeks are fab already. Can't wait for the stamps to be shown and pre ordering to begin. BTW the stamps aren't available just yet but it won't be long.

Neve's new baby album

I made an album for my neice that she can just slot photos in as she goes through her baby daughter Neve's first year. Based it on the baby album I had when my 2 daughters were born. (I wasn't scrapbooking then more's the pity).
Papers are a mix of Flavia baby papers, HOTP Baby papers and Dovecraft baby papers. C/S is Bazzill or Papermania. Flowers are Prima, Imaginisce and Papermania. Other items used are by K & Co envelopes and die cuts, Journalling stamped images are from a swap I undertook with friends on a forum, amd B G buttons. The 8" x 8" album was made using my BIA. (A rare outing for it lol.)

Easter is coming

This is the Tilda with bunny stamp from the latest collection (Easter) of Magnolia stamps. It is such a cute image and I bought it because it reminds me of how my DD1 hold our rabbits.

Papers are DCWV Pocket full of posies. Flowers are Prima and Imaginisce. The image is coloured in using Sakura Stardust gel pens and watercolour pencils.

I think this image will be used for the Easter cards I am sending this year. Friends be warned lol.
